The Love of a Parent

Parental love is the best and most natural illustration for this point. Indifference shows a lack of love; apathy is a form of disregard. The parent who allows her children to do whatever they want, regardless of the consequences, is a parent who doesn’t care about her children or love them the way God loves us. The loving parent disciplines her child when her child does something harmful and self-destructive. The loving parent is willing to punish her child, as difficult as the enactment of punishment may be, to save her child from danger and peril. This is because the loving parent deeply cares about her child, desiring her best and wanting her to flourish and thrive.
