The pearl we have found is meant to be a source of encouragement especially in our seasons of doubt or regret. Eighteenth-century songwriter Anne Steel penned a song that celebrates the promise of God’s great light even in her deepest winter. The last stanza holds great comfort:
Great Source of Light, thy beams display,
My drooping joys restore!
And guide me to the seats of day,
Where winter frowns no more.
