The Tree of Life is a film by Terrence Malick about a man’s memory of his childhood, including his mother and father. He becomes further estranged from his father the older he gets. However, he does find redemption by embracing his past and looking toward the future after receiving his mother’s blessing. (Video source: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RrAz1YLh8nY)
While the film is abstract, we can relate to wanting to redeem a bad situation. Praise God that in our worst and most sinful, he loved us, and would send Christ for us so that we could be reconciled to him once again.
