Blaise Pascal wrote, “No one is so happy as a true Christian, or so reasonable, virtuous, and lovable” (quoted in Peter Kreeft, Christianity for Modern Pagans: Pascal’s Pensées [San Francisco: Ignatius Press, 1993], 278). Remember a person you have encountered who made you feel like you’d been with Jesus. Maybe it was a teacher or mentor, a friend, or a total stranger. Now put them in the place of “true Christian” in the quote. When we have the realization of the work of Christ already completed and yet to come, we ought to be happier than anyone else.
