The refugee crisis is affecting the entire world as displaced people seek asylum and a permanent home after being driven away from their home countries. Christianity Today reported on how one refugee population actually revived a white Iowa church. In the piece, John Kline, the pastor of the church, says, “It’s hard to bring people together. You have to teach people to suffer, and understand that when you’re doing the right thing and trying to honor people in your church, suffering might result… I think we honestly believe that if we do the right thing, we’ll prosper. But really what we have to get people to understand is that doing the right thing might lead to suffering because we live in a broken world.”
Though it can be difficult to unite different people, believers are joined together by Christ. Every denomination has some type of communion and we realize that we have the most important things in common.
